Welcome to Harmony in Screens: A Study on Ping Feng. In this series of artworks, I explore the timeless beauty and cultural significance of traditional Chinese room screens, known as ping feng - 屏风. These elegant dividers not only partition spaces but also serve as symbols of balance and harmony within the home.
The term ping feng - 屏风 also shares a homophonic connection with a similar Chinese term ping feng - 平风, which translates to the concept of balance and tranquility. By integrating the principles of both 屏风 and 平风 into the design of room dividers, I aim to illustrate serene and peaceful environments that evoke a sense of calmness and balance.
